Three months old
I, for one, can’t believe that we already are in November. My podcast has been up for three months already, it feels like I just started. The results still surprise me. In these three months, I have released nine episodes and a trailer. I have reached over 500 downloads of the audio podcast, and my videos have been watched 131 times on YouTube.
The results on YouTube are not very impressive, and at the moment I am debating whether to continue the video portion of the podcast when I start season two In January, but that decision will be made during my break. I have already decided to stop making the shorts for the YouTube channel, just to save time, so for the rest of season 1, I will only upload the soundbites and the episodes there.
Happening in November
I started out by sharing some of my first impressions and trouble when I moved from Sweden to the US.
I will follow up with a tribute to Astrid Lindgren, who was born on November 14th, 1907. Who doesn’t love her children’s books?
In November there will be a total of five episodes, since there are five Mondays, and the rest of the Month will cover topics like a historic overview of Swedes in the US, A look at the Swedish Royal family, and end with a different kind of “royalty” as in Sankta Lucia and Alfred Nobel. Do you know what they have in common?
Will take a break
For December I have decided to make just two episodes and then take a break to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends and recharge my creative mind. I think that sometimes we forget to fuel our creativity by just taking a break, and we lose inspiration and the fun of creating. I know I have gotten myself to the brink of burnout before thinking that I must keep on producing and uploading or people will forget about me, no matter if it is writing a blog, making videos, or podcasts, it is so easy to get into the hamster wheel and just keep on going, so this time I actually planned my breaks from the start to prevent that.
Now it is your turn
For December the topic will be around Christmas in Sweden, but you can have your say in what the focus will be. I have created this very simple poll, and I hope you will participate and answer.
